Pain is one of the most common complaints of patients when they go to the doctor. Neck pain is described as sharp or dull discomfort than can radiate up the back of the head or down into the shoulders, arms, and hands. This can be either an acute problem that will resolve on its own in a few days or weeks, or this can be a chronic issue if symptoms continue for more than 3 months. We perform diagnostic testing to determine what the problem is and then design a care plan based on the diagnostic workup results. Care plans for chronic neck pain vary depending on severity but can include: lifestyle modifications, physical and occupational therapy, medications, steroid injections, and nerve blocks.
